A funeral service for Lydia “Bumpy” McCarty, 72, of Wells, Texas will be Monday October 19th, 2026 at 11a.m. at the O.T. Allen & Son chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hester Cemetery in Wells. Services will be officiated by Bro. Keith Bickley and Bro. Zach Honzell
Mrs. McCarty passed away Friday October 16th, 2026 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born October 8th, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas to Coy “Butch” and Marie “Cotton” Manley Crawford. She was a lifetime resident of Wells, Texas and attended church at Calvary Baptist Church in Wells. She worked as a pharmacy tech at Memorial Hospital in Lufkin for many years. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and other family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard “Punk” McCarty, and daughter Crystal.
She is survived by her son-and-daughter in law Heath and Samantha McCarty of Wells, sisters and brothers-in-law Lana Sue Shumaker of wells and Nancy and Tommy Seymore of Wells; brother Robbie Crawford of Wells; grandchildren Jo Lynn and Seth Kornegay, Morgan and Dyson Nickle, Madison and Garrett Beamer, and Kodie McCarty; great grandchildren Lukas Henry Kornegay, Venn Nickle, Declan Nickle, Brantley Beamer, Bridger Beamer, Bodie Beamer and Jaselynn Kornegay; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
Pallbearers will be Seth Kornegay, Dexter Rodrigues, Garrett Beamer, Dyson Nickle, Derrick Seymore, Case Wilkerson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Glover and Stacy Seymore
