Lumberjacks Men’s Golf Finishes Season at WAC Championships

PAYSON, Arizona- The Lumberjack’s men’s golf team wrapped up their 2023-24 season at the WAC Men’s Golf Championships in Payson, Arizona. 

Junior Trey Rouse was the top finisher for the Lumberjacks tied for 19th at +7 over par and 223 total strokes. Trey played in seven events this year for the Lumberjacks. Trey is from Homewood, Alabama and transferred from Jefferson State Community College.

Senior Jaxon Griffith finished tied for 33rd at +13 over par with 229 total strokes. The Lufkin, Texas native played in eleven events for the Lumberjacks in his final season. He won two tournaments individually this year for the Lumberjacks.

Junior Cameron Hubbard finished tied for 39th at +15 over par with 231 total strokes. The Lufkin, Texas native played in eleven tournaments for the Lumberjacks this season. 

Junior Matthew Hewitt finished in 48th place at +19 overall with 235 total strokes. Matthew did not play on Sunday. The Ormond Beach, Florida native played in eight tournaments this year for the Lumberjacks. 

Sophomore Eyan Edsall finished in 52nd at +25 over par with 241 total strokes. Eyan did not play on Saturday but played on Sunday in place of Matthew Hewitt. The Montgomery, Texas native played in nine tournaments for the Lumberjacks. 

Senior Jake Smelser did not start for the Lumberjacks but played in place of Eyan Edsall on Saturday and Sunday. Jake was +25 over par when he played. The Troup, Texas native played in seven tournaments for the Lumberjacks this season.
