OREM, Utah- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks lost game two of their three game WAC Conference series to the Utah Valley Wolverines.
The Lumberjacks got the scoring started in the first inning by stringing together five hits and scoring four runs. The Wolverines then responded in the bottom of the second inning plating three runs. After two complete innings the Lumberjacks led 4-3. Utah Valley was able to push two more runs across in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead 5-4.
After Utah Valley extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning by plating one run, SFA responded scoring one run courtesy of a Tom Biggs single to cut into the Wolverines lead. After five complete innings Utah Valley led 6-5. The Wolverines were able to score one run in the bottom of the sixth inning and were able to hold the Lumberjacks scoreless to win by a final score of 7-5.
Ethan Fowlks (3-1) took the win for the Wolverines and Reid Boyett (0-4) took the loss for the Lumberjacks. Mitch Mueller also earned his first save of the year for Utah Valley.
