The Stephen F. Austin Track and Field team completed the Texas A&M Alumni Muster this weekend in College Station, Texas. The ‘Jacks had a solid meet, as 19 teams and athletes earned top-10 finishes.
Riley Elliott and Pablo Lessari kicked off the men’s side of things with great showings, as Elliott placed fifth and Lessarri placed seventh in the 1500 meters. Nicholas Grullon placed tenth in the 110 hurdles, while Jarvis Anderson continued his great season with a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. In the men’s steeplechase, Wyatt Hoover and Sam Golla both had great races, placing second and sixth, respectively. Both the 4×400 team and the 4×100 team placed in the top 10, as they placed third and seventh to round out a strong track showing for the men. In the field events, Hunter Murphy and Nicholas Grullon placed in the top 3 in the high jump, as Murphy finished in second while Grullon placed third. Grullon also placed seventh in the long jump, finishing out a strong meet for him. Garrett Savage placed ninth in the pole vault, while Bryson Williams and Oghenetega Orkevwie placed second and seventh in the triple jump to conclude the men’s side of things.
For the women, Amani Graham had a great showing in the 100-meter hurdles, notching a seventh-place finish. Garance Dubray finished the highest among the women when she placed third in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Jamie Richardson placed eighth in the high jump, while Kira Van Den Ham placed ninth in the pole vault. Finally, Basia Mitchell placed tenth in the long jump.
The Lumberjacks will now prepare for the SLC Conference Championships in Houston, Texas, which takes place from May 15th to the 17th.
