Living History of Oak Grove Cemetery Tour Returns April 12th

Experience the past through the lives of those who shaped Nacogdoches, brought to life in Oak Grove Cemetery. On Saturday, April 12, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m., visitors are invited to experience the Living History of Oak
Grove Cemetery Tour, presented by Friends of Historic Nacogdoches, Inc. in partnership with Nacogdoches Historic Sites. Talented reenactors will portray carefully selected historical figures, sharing their stories and legacies in an
immersive, engaging way. Guided tours will lead visitors through the cemetery, stopping at each presenter along the way. As participants journey through the grounds, they will marvel at the historic gravestones and the beauty of one of Nacogdoches’ most treasured landmarks. Established circa 1837, Oak Grove Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Nacogdoches and holds the
distinction of being a Historic Texas Cemetery, as recognized by the Texas Historical Commission. It serves as the final resting place for signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence, soldiers of the Texas Revolution and subsequent wars, and influential figures who shaped the land and communities of East Texas.

● Time: Tours begin at 10 a.m. and depart every 20 minutes, with the final tour starting at 12:40 p.m.
● Tickets: $10 per person (children 10 and under are free)
● Tickets are available for purchase onsite during the event (cash or check only)
