Obituary

A Celebration of Life for Linda Muckleroy Duncan of Nacogdoches will be held 10 AM on Saturday, May 13 at First United Methodist Church of Nacogdoches. Nathan Hodge and Lorraine Brown of FMUC will preside over the service.

Ms. Duncan passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at home in Nacogdoches. She was born on July 27, 1949 in Nacogdoches to Harold and Sue Muckleroy. She is preceded in death by her father and she is survived by her mother, her children, Amy Still of Nacogdoches and Todd Fry of Houston. She is also survived by Amy’s husband Jonathan Still and their children, Bryn and Will, Todd’s wife Erin and their boys, Duncan and Bennett, brother Harold Muckleroy and his wife Pat of Fort Worth, sister Martha Muckleroy and her wife Margaret Martin of College Station.

Linda was born and raised in Nacogdoches, graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1967 and lived in the community for the majority of her life. She graduated from SFA with a degree in childhood education and worked at the university’s early childhood lab for many years. She also owned a children’s store, Small Frys, on Main Street, in downtown Nacogdoches in the 1980’s. Linda was involved in Bible studies, small groups, and serving at First United Methodist Church of Nacogdoches. As a citizen of Nacogdoches, she participated in the Heritage Club, Nacogdoches Heritage Heralds, Nacogdoches Garden Club, as well as numerous other organizations in Nacogdoches.

Linda enjoyed traveling, gardening, antiques, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be missed as a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many.
