Ladyjacks Compete and Travel in their First Days of the Italy Tour

FLORENCE, Italy- The Ladyjacks traveled to Florence for their first stop of the Italy tour.

The first day in Florence was highlighted by a bike tour of the city. The team got to explore different parts of the city, admire the architecture, and then biked up to San Miniato Al Monte to look over the city. Today was the second day in Florence, which started with a scavenger hunt around the city. The team broke down into smaller groups as they raced around the city. Ultimately, the winning team consisted of Kurstyn Harden, Atalia Ballestros, DOBO Allison Ray, and student manager Jacob.

After the fun of the scavenger hunt, the Ladyjacks prepared for their first game of the trip against the Florence All-Stars. Harden led the team with 14 points, followed by Destini Lombard who recorded 11 points. Avery Vansickle added eight points to the Ladyjacks total along with Mele Finau and Lydia Cooke-Wiggins who each recorded seven.

The ‘Jacks will head to Rome tomorrow and will spend the next two days exploring the city before they face off against the Rome All-Stars on August 10th.
