NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin tennis team (14-6, 8-1 SLC) finished the regular season at home against the Northwestern State Demons (9-7, 8-1 SLC).
Ksenia Mamontova and Avery Kinsey quickly secured the first doubles match while Felicia Back and Sonja Rooth battled to a 7-5 victory to secure the doubles point for the ‘Jacks.
In singles play, Mamontova and Jemma Cave won both their matches in two sets to give SFA a 3-0 lead. However, NSU won the five and six singles to cut the deficit down to one, 3-2. SFA needed one more point and got it from Sonja Rooth and she won her second set in tiebreaker fashion. This secured the Ladyjacks fourth conference championship and their first since 2015.
