Labor Day weekend is almost here, and while many will be hitting the road for one last summer getaway, the Nacogdoches Police Department will be out making sure everyone gets to their destination safely.
From August 15 through September 1, 2025, our officers will be participating in the Labor Day STEP IDM Wave in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). During this time, we’ll have increased patrols focused on identifying and removing impaired drivers from our roadways.
Impaired driving is one of the leading causes of serious and fatal crashes in Texas—and it’s 100% preventable.
Remember: Even one drink can impair your ability to drive. Plan ahead—use a designated driver, rideshare, or taxi if you plan to drink. Never let friends or family get behind the wheel impaired.
