Funeral services for Kathryne B. Crews, 98, of Garrison, TX, will be held at 4:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Garrison Funeral Home, with Rev. Stephen Smith officiating. Visitation will be held immediately prior to the service beginning at 3:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Preston Bend Cemetery in Pottsboro, TX.

Kathryne was born on March 2, 1928, in Texarkana, Texas, and passed away on June 5, 2026, in Garrison, Texas. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, she attended Southern Methodist University. While she was working at a part-time job, her boss and soon-to-be sister-in-law Hildred Crews, introduced Kathryne to James Robert Crews. Jim and Kathryne were married on April 15, 1950. Their adventure lasted 52 years. They had 3 sons: James Robert Crews, Jr., Jack Calvin Crews, and Jeffrey Lloyd Crews. They lived in Dallas for many years then moved to Pottsboro on the shores of Lake Texoma. After her husband’s death, Kathryne moved to Garrison to be near her son Jeff.

Kathryne is preceded in death by her parents Robert Milam Bone and Madeline Melton Bone, her sister and brother-in-law Madeline (better known as “Tootsie”) and Eugene Harris, brothers and sisters-in-law Lloyd and Anita Crews, Jack and Betty Crews and Hildred Barber; nieces and nephews Phyllis Doe, Bill Crews and Bobby Harris Sr., her eldest son James Jr., and her husband James Sr.

She is survived by her two sons, Jack Calvin Crews and Jeffrey Lloyd and wife Gail Crews; three grandchildren Dr. Jonathan Daniel and wife Lindsey Crews, Michael Austin Crews and Molly Elizabeth Crews; four great-grandchildren Will, Samuel, Sophie and Ellie Crews; nieces Gene Harris and husband Bill Pierce, Barbara Haley, and Ann Barber; and great nieces Leslie Slovak and Abby Doe and great nephews Shane Pierce, Bobby Harris Jr and Robbie Doe.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Garrison Nursing Home Activities Department or to First Methodist Church of Garrison.
