Obituary

Karen Louise Brittain, beloved wife of nearly 60 years, devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and sister, entered into the presence of her savior, Jesus Christ, her rock and her salvation, Sunday, September 22, 2024, joining our precious firstborn, Paul, and his beloved grandparents in eternal praise of our redeemer.

Born March 3, 1943, in Staten Island, NY, Karen found a new home in Texas, when her family relocated to Houston in the early 1960s and not long after her arrival, a life mate she now leaves behind with a broken heart. Tender and compassionate but imbued with courage and strength that upheld her loved ones in life’s adversities. Karen is survived by grateful family members, husband Dan, sons, David (Diana) and Stephen (Debbie), grandchildren Shelby, Luke, Caleb, and Lilly, and sisters, Diane Anderson and Katherine Perry, and was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lillian Miller, Dan’s parents (Paul, David and Stephen’s paternal grandparents) Z.F. and Helen Brittain, and Paul, and big brother to David and Stephen.

Special thanks are owed to her loving and tireless caregivers, Cathy Grant and her sister, Carol Price, along with Sally Wester.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 27, 2024, at Cold Spring Cemetery near Nacogdoches, Texas, where Paul is laid to rest and where his paternal grandparents and many of their relatives are interred.
