Obituary
Joyce Spradley,age 79, left for her heavenly home on September 1 ,2024 to join her parents Edward and Clara Spradley. She was educated in Nacogdoches schools, graduating from NHS in 1963, attended SFA for a degree in elementary education and taught school in the Houston area before returning for Master, s work in library science . She completed her Masters work at the University of Houston and competed 35 years of teaching in Houston area.
When Joyce returned to Nacogdoches in 2002, she worked briefly at Calvary Baptist Church. She then attended Fredonia Hill before joining Calvary where she enjoyed Sunday school and Bible study. She liked reading, playing bridge and having lunch with friends.
She is survived by a sister Anita Allen of Melkel, Tx and her 4 children and brother Bill Spradley, wife Mary,and their son of Nacogdoches. There are also nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, TX. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm officiated by Bro. Paul Sevar with interment at Sunset Cemetery following. Many thanks to the staff at the Arbor for their loving care and kindness.
