A Look at the Lumberjacks:
The SFA Lumberjacks come into this contest vs CBU on a high note after they won their regular season home finale against Southern Utah, improving their record to 2-12-1 on the season. Jayme Bailey once again leads the Jacks into battle, as her four goals, nine points, and 27 shots all lead the team. In the win on Sunday, she carried the Lumberjacks to victory by netting two goals, including the winner in the final minute of the match. Bailey’s ten shots on goal also lead the team. Ava Shannon picked up an assist as well, and now has three on the season, which lead the team. Her 21 shots and three points are second only to Bailey as she looks to keep up the productive play. In goal, Lydia Sattler has been in goal for the majority of the season. She leads the team in games played and started with 11 and her 57 saves also top the squad. She’ll look to keep CBU off the scoreboard. A Look at the Lancers:
The California Baptist Lancers come into this match vs SFA 7-1-6 on the season and 2-0-3 in conference play. They have a sterling 4-1-2 record at home and hope to keep improving on that record on Thursday. Kaylee Hauck and Marcella Brooks lead a potent offensive attack with five goals each, and Frida Murrieta, Jaydan Ramirez, and Lourdes Bosch all have three goals as well. Four other players have scored for them totaling nine girls having done damage to the opposing defense so they can beat you in multiple ways. In goal, Noa Schumacher has started all 14 games on the season and she has been solid, having 53 total saves and a 7-1-6 record. She has been very good recently, only giving up five goals in the past seven matches. She’ll hope to hold the Lumberjack offense down Thursday night.
