Phoenix, Ariz.- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks fell in Arizona to the GCU Lopes by a final score of 8-0.
The Lumberjacks entered this game against GCU looking to bounce back after a road loss to the CBU Lancers and give GCU their third home loss of the season. Unfortunately, the Lopes had other plans as they continued their strong conference play with an 8-0 win over SFA to record their 10th win of the season. Gianna Gourley continued her strong season for GCU as she recorded two goals and sits at 18 total on the season.
Lydia Sattler played the full 90 minutes in net for SFA and recorded an impressive 14 saves against a high-powered GCU offense. Lily Hargrove recorded two shots, while Jamie Jezierski and Ava Shannon also recorded a shot for SFA. Hargrove and Shannon each recorded a shot on goal for SFA. Meanwhile, Ava Shannon, Jamie Jezierski, and Ella Morgan were workhorses for SFA today as all three played the full 90 minutes for SFA.
The Lumberjacks will return to Nacogdoches as they have a Thursday bye this week, before hitting the road for their final game of the season at UTRGV against the Vaqueros on Sunday, October 22nd at 1:00 p.m. CT.
