Mrs. McKnight passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 in Nacogdoches.

Ive Faye McKnight was born on April 23, 1935 in Naples, TX to Henry and Minnie Johnson. She met James Earl McKnight while working at a café in Diboll, TX. After they married, they built a good life for their family, residing in Nacogdoches.

Faye’s faith in the Lord was strong and was an important part of her life. Until her health failed, she was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Renewal Sunday school class in Nacogdoches. Before then, their family served at Memorial Baptist Church.

Faye was a hard worker. She liked to stay busy. In addition to being a homemaker, their family raised broilers, with Faye tending the chickens during the day. Her last job outside the home was in the cafeteria at Raguet Elementary School. Faye and Earl always raised a big garden every year. She spent much of her time during spring and summer in the garden and then canning and freezing what it produced. Faye loved to cook and was always trying new recipes. She had a talent for painting. Many of her family and friends were recipients of that talent. Faye was also a faithful caregiver for her parents until their deaths.

Faye is survived by her husband, Earl McKnight, Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-love, Kenneth and Gayla McKnight, Chandler; daughter and son-in-love, Barbara and Billy Craver, Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Tommy and Stephanie McKnight, Red Oak; Adam and Andrea McKnight, Murphy; Jennifer and Cristian Enriquez, Nacogdoches; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Nathan, Jaxon, and Wyatt McKnight; Bethany Craver; Emilia, Allison, and Rosalie Enriquez; brothers and sisters-in-love, Archie McKnight; Jerry and Albertia McKnight; Verna Fruge; Irby and Vicki McKnight, and a host of other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by brothers, Willie, Lonnie, Pete, Johnny, and J. C. Johnson, and sisters, Laura Hudspeth and Ola Mae Hanes.

Faye will be greatly missed. We take comfort in knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior.

“Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be home with the Lord.”  2 Corinthians 5:8
