Investigations ongoing after body recovered in Nacogdoches County

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas – The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office is working alongside other law enforcement agencies to investigate a body found in the 4900 block of FM 1638 on Tuesday, March 25. A section of FM 1638, also known as Old Tyler Road, was closed down Tuesday following the discovery of the corpse, which was
based on information developed by law enforcement agencies in Angelina County. The body is believed to be that of Michael Randolph Allen, 44, of Lufkin, who has been missing since late January. The body was found in an abandoned, unoccupied residence. Investigators from the NCSO, Lufkin Police Department and Lufkin PD
Crime Scene Unit, and the Texas Rangers assisted in securing the area and collecting evidence. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death and positively identify the deceased individual. Based on information developed by the Texas Rangers, Angelina County Sheriff’s Office and Lufkin Police Department, this case is being investigated as a homicide. The suspect, a 57 year-old white male, is currently incarcerated on other, unrelated charges in another county. That individual has not been charged in this case as of Wednesday afternoon, and his identity is not being released at this time. It is believed this individual’s death may be related to another death and missing persons case which is currently under investigation.
