Health Inspection Report Week of 11/18/2025

The Inspection Services Department carries out the general health & safety inspections of occupancies requiring a health permit within the jurisdiction of the City of Nacogdoches. The primary function of the Health Inspector is the interpretation, inspection and field compliance efforts of the technical codes and laws. These codes and laws are Federal, State and Local. In addition the Health Inspector with support from the Inspection Services Department carries out the responsibility of data entry, account billing and record keeping.

  • Sombreros Restaurant – 17 demerits
    Complaint: alleged rodent infestation (no evidence found)
    Issues: damaged ceiling tiles, missing paper towels, uncovered food, missing thermometers

🟡 Moderate Demerits

  • Big’s Convenience Store #3832 Deli & Grill – 7 demerits
    Issues: damaged floors/walls, dirty vents, missing paper towels
  • Napoli’s – 6 demerits
    Issues: discarded canned food, sanitation, weatherproofing, dumpster maintenance

    Issues: expired food, missing thermometers, labeling issues
  • Kinfolks – 5 demerits
    Issues: damaged ceiling tiles, blocked handwash sink
  • Popeye’s – 5 demerits

    Issue: damaged wall/tile near exit
