NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin defeated Texas A&M-Texarkana, 80-51 Sunday afternoon. SFA improves to 6-2 in conference play, while TAMUT falls to 6-2 (2-0 RRAC).
The Eagles came out fighting against the Ladyjacks and kept the first quarter close until the final two buckets which extended the Ladyjacks lead to five. In the second quarter SFA slowly got their lead into the double-digits, but TAMUT held them to a seven point lead at halftime. The Ladyjacks exploded in the third quarter as they outscored the Eagles 30-8, which gave them a 63-34 lead going into the fourth quarter. SFA hovered around a 32 point lead for most of the quarter, but ultimately won the game by 29 points.
Freshman Jordan Harrison scored a career high 20 points, five steals and five assists and led the team in all categories. Kyla Deck and Destini Lombard each scored 10 points. Avery Brittingham recorded 13 rebounds, followed by Aiyana Johnson who had 9. Tyler McCliment-Call followed Harrison with four assists, while Brittingham followed Harrison with four steals.
The Ladyjacks will be back at home in one week as Arizona State comes to town on Sunday, December 11th at 4:00 p.m.
