Services for Hannah will be on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at 1:00 P.M., at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing, Texas, with Bro. David Snelson officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Sacul Cemetery in Sacul, Texas.
Hannah Elizabeth Applegate, 71, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 10, 2023 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Hannah was born in Henderson, TX to Homer and Lillian Grindle on December
28, 1951. She married David Applegate on September 14, 1968 and planted roots in Nacogdoches where they raised their sons, Richard and Adam. Hannah worked numerous jobs, but eventually found her calling as a stay-at-home mom and grandma.
Hannah is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Michael and Richard Applegate; grandson, Briar Cassada; great granddaughter, Abigail Applegate; in-laws, Johnnie Swink and Jessie Lee Applegate; brother in-law, Lee Swink; and sister in-laws, Emily Corley and Marie Applegate.
Hannah will be forever remembered and loved by her husband of 54 years, David Applegate; son, Adam Applegate and wife, Jenny; daughter in-law, Kim Allen; brothers, James “Norman” and Earnest “Tony” Grindle; sisters, Lena Hager (Jerry) and Lilly Wyatt (Joe); grandchildren, Lanie Vinther (David), Crystal Cassada, Jacob Applegate (Kresha), David Strength (Allie), and Addison Applegate; great-grandchildren, Levi and Garrett Cassada, Olivia Vinther, and James Strength; brother in-laws, William and Steve Applegate (Debbie), John Corley, and sister in-law Patsy Tucker. Hannah will also be greatly missed by numerous other family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Adam Applegate, Jacob Applegate, David Strength, Blane Pearson, Payton Pearson and Carson Lee. Hannah will forever be remembered for her love of playing bingo, watching westerns, and cheering on the Cowboys. Her love and dedication to her family resonates within the children and grandchildren she has played a huge part in helping raise!
