Funeral Service for Gail Ann Blankenship, 68, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, January 25,2024 at Laird Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25,2024 at 2:00-3:00pm at Laird’s Funeral Home in Nacogdoches, Texas. Laird’s Funeral Home will be assisting with the arrangements.
Gail Ann Blankenship, also known as GG, passed away on January 18,2024, at the age of 68 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on May 19, 1955, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to John and Hattie Lemons. Gail was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She took great pride and joy in raising her granddaughter and was known for always putting others before herself. Gail had a wonderful sense of humor, always quick-witted and full of jokes.
Gail graduated from Nacogdoches High School and went on to have a successful career in Security Finance. She started as a cashier and retired after 40 years as a Vice President of Operations. In her free time, Gail enjoyed playing bingo with her sisters, reading, embroidering, and writing poetry.
Gail Ann Blankenship will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her loving nature, sense of humor, and selflessness will always be remembered. May she rest in peace.
Gail is survived by her husband, Don Blankenship, of Nacogdoches, Texas; her granddaughter, Morgan Blankenship, of Nacogdoches, Texas; her son, Casey Blankenship, and his wife, Shelia, of Santa Fe, Texas; her brother, Authur Lemons, and his wife, Shelia, of Nacogdoches, Texas; her sister, Linda Nichols, and her husband, Preston, of Nacogdoches, Texas; her sister, Brenda Drewery, of Nacogdoches, Texas; her brother Larry Lemons, and his wife, Nita, of Nacogdoches, Texas; her grandson, Jacob Blankenship, of Santa Fe, Texas; her grandson, Josh Blankenship and his wife Ashley, of Sante Fe, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie Lemons, her brother John Lynn Lemons, as well as her son, Kyle Blankenship.
Serving as Pallbearers are Shawn Drewery, Jacob Drewery, Scott Nichols, Mark Nichols, Shane Lemons, and Adam Lemons. Honorary Pallbearers are Casey Blankenship, Jacob Blankenship, and Josh Blankenship.
