Obituary

Fran Sauls, 84, of Nacogdoches, passed away on April 22, 2023, in Center, Texas. She was born in St. Matthews, South Carolina on November 23, 1938, to the late Whitsol and Deon (Stabler) Inabinet. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am through 10:00 am prior to the service.

Frances was born in St. Matthews, South Carolina and graduated from St. Matthews High School.  She grew up on a farm that produced cotton, corn and many other crops.  She and six siblings worked the farm in St. Matthews.  After marrying and having her three children, she attended Stephen F. Austin State University where she obtained a degree in accounting.  Frances loved to read and do puzzles, but her favorite past time was to plant roses and watch them bloom.  She made rose beds at every house she lived in.  In her earlier years, she enjoyed being a part of the local garden clubs and volunteering with the American Cancer Society.  Once she moved to Dallas, she was employed with Congressman Collins and his nephew, Richard Collins doing work for the Collins Foundation and the Children’s Education Fund.  In this role, she was blessed to help disadvantaged families send their children to private, specialty and magnet public schools.  In 2018 Frances retired from the Collins Foundation, Children’s Education Fund and Istation.  As the days of volunteering in the garden clubs and others ended, she continued her passion for planting and caring for flowers at her home in Carrolton, Texas. She had a special friend, Dave Griffin and upon his passing, Frances moved to Nacogdoches where she began attending Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Debra Brewer and husband, Tim of Nacogdoches, Texas; sons, Robert Sauls and wife, Debbie of Westlake, Louisiana, David Sauls and wife, Tamm of Valdese, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kaycee and Blake Whatley, Kathleen and Kyle Eustace, Nathaniel Barron, Elizabeth Sauls, Daniel and Stacey Sauls, Randy and Sarah Gresham, Erick Wayne Gresham, Ashley Coughran, Eric Coughran, and Michael Coughran; great-grandchildren, Hudson Whatley, Jackson Whatley, Townes Eustace, Hayes Eustace, Collen Gresham, Isley Gresham, Phoenix Gresham, Ryvyr Gresham, Olivia Coughran, and Willow Coughran; sisters, Miriam Moorehouse of Denton, North Carolina, and Barbra Boyd of St. Simons Island, Georgia; brothers, Allen Inabinet of Columbia, South Carolina, Osbourne Inabinet, and Stabler Inabinet, both of St. Matthews, South Carolina.
