Obituary

Forrest Gerald Frye entered into God’s Kingdom on December 3, 2022. He was born April 6, 1923, to Bessie and Harvey Frye. He was married to Reba Frye for 69 years before her passing in 2012.

Forrest is survived by his sons; George of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Don of Jefferson, Colorado.

Forrest joined the Conservation Core during WWII and helped build roads and bridges in national parks in California while his wife, Reba, helped build bombers for Boeing. He was a certified A-1 welder most of his life, welding on ships, and for a short time McDonnell Aircraft on the F-4 program. Most of his welding career was on tractor trailers for Trailmobile.

He was an avid golfer shooting in the low 80’s, but his number one thing was dominoes, especially 42. Well into his 90’s when asked, “why are you so good at dominoes?” his answer always was, “I’ve been playing it since I was 5 years old!”.

Forrest was a Christian man, he led several to Christ during his life. He also taught Sunday School for a time while living in Lubbock, Texas. Forrest and Reba were counselors for Franklin Grams Service in Lubbock, Texas.

His favorite Bible verse was John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Visitation will be held at Laird Funeral Home Chapel from 9:00 to 10:00 am and funeral services 10:00 to 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Burial will take place on December 8, 2022, in Morton, Texas, at 3:00 pm next to his beloved wife Reba.
