Obituary

Faye Jeanette (Jenkins) Williams, age 94, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in Lufkin. She was born November 27, 1928, in Gallatin, Texas to parents Comer Farris Jenkins and Letha Viola (Cotton) Jenkins.

Faye met Braxton (Junnie) while in high school in Maydell, Texas. Faye was 16 and Junnie was 17. She graduated from Gallatin High School in Gallatin, Texas. They married July 4, 1947 and enjoyed 63 years of marriage until his passing on Sept. 13, 2009. Faye was a Christian and baptized at an early age. She was a loving wife, mother and a wonderful grandmother, always putting everyone’s needs ahead of her own. Even though Faye was crippled, she was active and vibrant until the end. Faye was able to be completely independent in taking care of herself and household. She was sharp minded, had a wonderful sense of humor and could even text. Faye took care of her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, computer games, knitting, and fishing. She also volunteered her time at the hospital and was a member of the Church of Christ her entire life.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Braxton P. Williams; brothers, Billy Jenkins and wife Audrey of Longview and Farris Glen and wife Pat of Tyler.

She is survived by her daughter, Paulette Umphenour and husband Eddie of Nacogdoches; son, Randall Williams and wife Beverly of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Jason Umphenour and wife Cheryl of Nacogdoches, Lynette Umphenour Holland and husband Ed of Union, Kentucky, Angela Schueneman and husband Zach of Rockwall, Texas, and Amber Williams of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Zachary Umphenour, Corley Holland, Chelby Bundrick, Justin Bundrick, Colson Holland, Kelsey Holland, Natalie Holland, Alix Schueneman, Braxton Schueneman; and great-great grandchild, Casen Bundrick.

A visitation for Faye will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Rob Fortson.

Faye will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.
