Obituary

Dorothy was born in Houston and remained there until early adulthood.  She was blessed with the birth of her 2 children and in her 20’s, decided to make her home with the kids, in East Texas.  She worked as a waitress and found that the relationships she formed were very special to her.  She loved helping people and her daily job allowed her to provide for her family and meet new people along the way.  By chance, she met Pete McCleney and the two struck up a great friendship and knew that friendship would turn into so much more.  They truly loved each other and simply understood one another.  They have spent the past 40 years being best friends and sharing the life they loved.  Dorothy was happy with her simple, yet very meaningful life.  She enjoyed rides on the motorcycle with Pete and working with her plants and flowers.  She was extraordinarily devoted to her church and loyal to those who depended on her.  She particularly enjoyed being a part of the fundraisers they did to help with things around the community and for the church.  Her favorite color was green and when she wasn’t cooking her delicious meals or riding with Pete, she could be found putting together gift baskets for those in need and the family that she so dearly loved.  She was Memaw to the grandchildren and carried that name with honor.  She was sweet and loving, kind and generous, dedicated and faithful.  She was always supportive and attentive to everyone around her and no one ever wondered what they meant to her.  She loved Pete and her children more than anything in the world and was surely praying for their happiness as often as she could.  She will be missed by everyone, including her family and church family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, Pete McCleney; sons, Jessie Poskey & fiancé, Mallory and Jason Poskey; daughters, Kristen Dodge and Sarah Wilson; and grandchildren, Jessie Poskey Jr. & wife, Jill, Ansley Poskey, Addison Poskey, Miley Brock, Mabry Brock and Hank Poskey.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jessie Poskey, Jessie Poskey Jr., John Dennis Poskey, Mike Poskey, Daryll Briley, Greg Briley. Serving as honorary pallbearers E. B. Briley and Alvin Poskey.
