Graveside services for Don Roger Starr, 88, of Forest will be Wednesday, April 3rd, at 2 PM in the Thompson Cemetery in Forest with Bro. Steve Cowart officiating. There will be a visitation, also at the cemetery beginning at 1 PM. Don passed away Saturday, March 30, in Lufkin. He was born April 21, 1935 in San Antonio Texas. Don had lived in Houston for many years before retiring from International Long Shoreman where he was a Steam Ship Clerk. He moved to Forest with his wife Rita about 31 years ago. Don had served in the Naval Reserve for 8 years and loved hunting and the outdoors. He had been a member of the ILA #1351 Union and a past Master of the Eastgate Masonic Lodge in Houston. He had attended the Forest Baptist Church. Don was preceded in death by his parents and by son Don Ray Starr Sr. He is survived by his wife Rita Starr of Forest, daughters Donna Lynn and husband Glenn Edward Allison Jr. of Forest and Kimberly Renea and husband Gilbert Goodman of Houston, grandsons Thomas Holcomb, Don Starr Jr.,Francis Reed Jr., Cameron Justice, Joseph Justice and Justin Reed, granddaughters LaDonia Starr, Chrysta Justice, Sheree Gomez and Alyssa Goodman,, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Don Ray Starr Jr., Justin Michael Reed, Francis Reed Jr, Joseph Darrell Wayne Justice, Thomas Holcomb and Gilbert Goodman.Honorary pallbearers are Eddy Allison and Cameron Wayne Justice.
