David Graybill Obituary

David Loren Graybill, age 58, of Cushing, Texas, passed away on June 9, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Known for his warm heart, wild sense of humor, and unmistakable love for dogs and classic cars, David lived life with passion, grit, and an unmistakable fedora always atop his head.

Born on March 23, 1967, David was a man of many talents and even more stories. He had an enduring love for animals—especially his beloved dog, Sancho—and an unmatched skill for tearing down and rebuilding engines, whether it was a small lawn mower or a rumbling muscle car. A true motorhead, he found joy in every roar of an engine and took great pride in detailing his cars until they shined like new.

David is preceded in death by his father, Larry Graybill Sr.; his grandparents; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; one son; and his faithful companion, Sancho.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Graybill; his sons, David Jr., Jarrod, and Brandon; his cherished granddaughter, Abby; his mother, Christine Graybill, his twin brother and lifelong partner-in-crime, Larry Graybill Jr. and wife Veronica. David is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Judy Wallace (Scott), Kathy Nabona (Jeff), Mary Harris (Todd), Shawn Kennedy (Tim), and Erin Madison (Justen), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were more like family.

David had a heart as strong as the engines he loved, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life is planned with the date and location pending. All are welcome to come share stories, laughter, and love in honor of David’s unforgettable life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation or Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Enterprise, Texas—two causes close to David’s heart.

“Ride on, David. We’ll keep the engines warm until we see you again.”
