Craig Poche, a local businessman and dedicated public servant with deep roots in East Texas, has officially announced his candidacy for Nacogdoches County Judge.
“I am motivated by a commitment to service, and I intend to build on the progress we’ve seen thanks to the outstanding leadership of Judge Greg Sowell,” Poche said. “As Judge Sowell prepares to retire, I aim to step into the role with a clear vision: enhancing public safety, investing in infrastructure, fostering economic growth and ensuring transparent governance.”
With a career spanning construction, development, poultry and real estate, Poche brings a wealth of experience to the table. He graduated from the Marine Military Academy in 1985 and moved to Nacogdoches to attend Stephen F. Austin State University. He began his career as a contractor for Indian River Poultry, and has served as assistant hatchery manager for Avian Farms, Inc. His business ventures include Poche Construction and Development, and he has owned a liquor store and a dry cleaner. He earned his real estate license in 1994 and honed his expertise with training from the Champion School of Realty and Avian Farms International Poultry Training School.
Poche is active in the community and has served on the Nacogdoches County Appraisal Review Board for many years. He is a member of the Texas Apartment Association and a former Nacogdoches Jaycee.
Poche have been married to Kristi Poche for 14 years and they have two children. Their son, Kraig Poche, is 10 years old and their daughter, Kaylyn Poche, is 13.
