Cora (Becky) Crooms Obituary
Surrounded by her loving family, Cora Rebecca (Becky) Crooms passed peacefully from this life on July 9, 2025, at UT Health in Tyler, Texas. Becky was born January 23, 1939, in Shelby County to Evan and Lee Ola Cain and graduated from Nacogdoches High School. After graduation, she attended the Texas Beauty Academy in Tyler, Texas where she obtained her cosmetology license. Her future was set when she met Kervin Dial Crooms. They were married in 1959 and became the proud parents of Kervin Jeff (Jeff) Crooms who was born May 10, 1961.
Though Becky’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy continues in the countless lives she touched. Her legacy is one of grace and quiet impact, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled. Yet, her spirit will live on in every life she touched, and in the example, she set for all who knew her. She will be remembered for her graciousness, warm hospitality, and her amazing culinary skills. She took pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeff Crooms; brothers, Mike Cain and Jerry Cain; niece Peggy Jurek; and sister-in-law, Mary Cain.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kervin Dial Crooms; grandchildren Madelyn Crooms (fiancée Jonathan Banister) and Justin Crooms (Amber); great grandchildren, Peyton Crooms, Mykka Jones, Sam Crooms, and Nathan Pointer. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law; Shelly Crooms; and siblings, Jack Cain (Glenda), Rayford Cain (Linda), Vi Alexander, Robert Cain, (Jann) and Sam Cain, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, a graveside service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM at County Line Cemetery, Long Branch, Texas. Service is under the direction of Garrison Funeral Home, Garrison, Texas.
