NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin football team collected preseason honors in the annual 2024 Phil Steele Preseason FCS All-American and All-Southland Conference teams. The Lumberjacks earned eight awards overall including two FCS All-American honors.
Chris Campos received his second preseason All-American nomination of 2024. The senior kicker from Nacogdoches, Texas was named to the FCS preseason All-American second team as well as first team in the preseason All-Southland Conference (SLC) special teams.
Ed Bobino III, the redshirt sophomore defensive lineman from Huntsville, Texas, was named FCS preseason All-American third team as well as SLC All-Conference defense first team.
Six other Lumberjacks were also named to the Phil Steele FCS Preseason All-SLC teams.
Junior wide receiver Kylon Harris was named to the All-SLC offensive first team. Senior linebacker Jermaine Brown also received first team honors on the defensive SLC team.
Redshirt junior running back Jerrell Wimbley was named to the All-SLC offensive third team. Senior cornerback Jeremiah Walker also received second team All-SLC honors on the defensive team.
Redshirt sophomore defensive end Aaron Austin and redshirt senior cornerback Bruce Harmon rounded out the list of Lumberjacks as they both received All-SLC defensive third team honors.
The Lumberjacks will open their 2024 campaign at home on August 29th at 7:00 P.M. against North American University. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased by visiting sfatickets.com.
