Chireno man charged in numerous incidents

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas – A Chireno man was taken into custody early Friday morning as the suspect in numerous incidents of property destruction that occurred in Chireno between approximately 5:20 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Colton Lee Dickerson, 30, was booked into custody at the Nacogdoches County Jail on two third degree felony charges for possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest with a vehicle.
No injuries were reported during any of the incidents. NCSO deputies were dispatched to the 6800 block of FM 95 S. around 5:24 a.m. to an alarm call after a window was broken at a residence in the area. At 5:54 a.m., dispatchers received a report of a vehicle and shed on fire in the 2100 block of CR 486, where they also located the stock
of a firearm and noticed vehicle tracks near the site of the fire. While on scene on CR 486, another vehicle fire was reported at the Chireno Independent School District campus. Witnesses reported that the district police vehicle was on fire and that an individual had rammed into the front doors of the high school in a black Honda
CRV before fleeing the scene. As law enforcement responded to that incident, another call came in around 6:21 a.m. that an individual had struck the back porch of a
residence with a vehicle, had sprayed a flammable liquid onto the porch and attempted to start a fire. The homeowner confronted the individual, who fled the scene. Approximately six minutes later, dispatchers received a call about a confrontation between the suspect and a homeowner in the 700 block of CR 444 after the suspect crashed into the resident’s vehicle. The resident, who was armed, confronted the suspect and the suspect, attempted to leave the scene, but was unable to exit the property. The suspect and resident had a second confrontation in
which the home owner discharged a firearm at the suspect, but no injuries were reported. The suspect then fled the scene. At 6:33 a.m., NCSO deputies made a felony traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle in the 600 block of CR 433, at which time Dickerson was taken into custody. Suspected TCH wax and other paraphernalia was located in his vehicle, and Dickerson is suspected of having
been under the influence of alcohol based on liquor bottled found at two scenes and in the vehicle. At least two other incidents are under investigation as being related.
A resident in the 1900 block of CR 486 found damage to the windows of his work vehicle, and a homeowner found damage to a residence in the 1900 block of CR 486.
Investigations into all these incidents are ongoing, and additional charges will be filed when the investigation is completed.. More information will be released at a later date.
