Obituary
Judy Ann (King) Burns, 70, of Douglass, Texas passed away on January 7th, 2025, in Nacogdoches TX. Visitation will be held at Laird Funeral Home on Friday, January 10th from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral service will be held at Caledonia cemetery on Friday the 10th at 1pm with Jason Lott officiating. Laird funeral home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Judy was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to William Erby King and Betty King on September 18th, 1954. She attended Nacogdoches High School. She started her career at Dr. Stewart Barron’s office as an ophthalmologist assistant and continued under Dr. Lyle Thorstenson and Dr. Robert Lehmann until retirement. She was proud of the work she did and enjoyed helping her patients. She retired to care for her parents in their last years. Judy had a heart of gold she tirelessly took care of those around her.
Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren spoiling them every chance she had and lounging with her puppies Layla and Cooper.
Judy is survived by her husband Mark Burns of Douglass, Texas, son Matthew Burns and wife Sarah of Douglass, Texas, daughter Christina Burns of Nacogdoches, Texas, grandchildren Hannah and Samuel Burns of Douglass, Texas, brother Jimmy King and wife Deborah of Nacogdoches, Texas, Sister Nancy George and husband Doug of Nacogdoches, Texas, nieces and nephews: Angie Harwell, Dee Corely, Jimmy King Jr, Michael King, and Justin Rhoden.
She is preceded in death by her parents; William Erby King and Betty King, sister Jackie Arriola and niece Melissa Collins.
Judy was loved deeply and will be missed forever.
