Obituary

 Funeral services for Charlotte Ann Dixon, 75, of Alto will be Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11 AM, in the OT Allen & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at the Lynches Chapel Cemetery near Alto.  Mrs. Dixon passed away Monday, August 12 in Houston. She was born December 28, 1948 in Jacksonville, Texas to J.M. “Mutt” Bowman and Claudia Moore Bowman. Charlotte lived all her life in Alto and Rusk Texas. She was a member of the Campground Baptist Church. Charlotte had worked as the Librarian for the Rusk Middle School for 17 years and  worked in the Cherokee County Clerk’s office for about 10 years. She loved traveling, listening to gospel music and attending her grandchildren’s activities. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jewel, George and Larry Jack Bowman and sister Estelle Ham. She is survived by husband John Paul Dixon of Alto, sons John Dixon of Alto and Paul Dixon and wife Rebecca of Alto, daughter Mandy Hamilton and husband Brad of Pollok, grandchildren Taylor Dixon, Will Dixon, Kyndall Dixon, Landree Hamilton and Finley Hamilton and great grandchildren Aleesia Taylor Dixon-Clay and Ace Wesley Marshall. Pallbearers will be Ty Hendrick, Dax Bowman, Will Dixon, Jerdarius Bolton, Brad Hamilton and Wayne Helm. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Hendrick and Richard Holcomb. A visitation will be Wednesday night, August 14, from 6-8 PM, at the funeral home in Alto.
