Bruce Allen Selman, 72, of Appleby, passed away on June 28, 2026, in Nacogdoches. He was born on July 11, 1953, in Forney, Texas to George Bruce and Mary Gwinn (Piper) Selman. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.

Bruce grew up in Mesquite, Texas. He came to Nacogdoches to attend Stephen F. Austin State University. While in college, Bruce met the love of his life, Carol Rowlett. The two were married on August 18, 1973, in Tyler.

Bruce was invested in his family. He coached and participated with his boys in school, church, or community activities. He followed his grandchildren by going to their recitals, their sports games and any school activities. He hated to miss anything that involved the children. He cheered them on and was so very proud of all their accomplishments.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Carol Selman; mother, Mary Selman; sons, Stephen Michael Selman and wife, Mindi of Purvis, Mississippi, and Adam Lynn Selman and wife, Courtney of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Landon Richeson and wife, Shelby, Reagan Selman, Hudson Selman, Piper Selman, Audrey Selman, Jailynn Hurst, and Jason Hurst; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Richeson and Avery Richeson; sisters, Gwena Pierce, Beverly Selman, and Bridgett O’Key and husband, Jonathan; and his brother, Donald Wayne Selman and wife, Loretta.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Bruce Selman.
