Bonnie and Clyde Musical Comedy coming to Nacogdoches

NACOGDOCHES, TX — Nacogdoches Historic Sites is excited to present Bonnie and Clyde: A Musical Comedy on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Zion Hill Historic Site. The performance, beginning at 7:00 PM, will open with an introduction by Dr.
Scott Sosebee, Executive Director of the East Texas Historical Association, followed by the main performance by the Austin-based theater group Texas Comedies.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Sosebee will explore the enduring rumors and lesser-known facts surrounding Bonnie and Clyde’s connections to Nacogdoches. Drawing from historical research, he will touch on how local lore and documented
events have shaped the public’s perception of the infamous duo. Bonnie and Clyde: A Musical Comedy is an irreverent performance that blends historical storytelling with humor and music. Based on postman-turned-deputy Ted Hinton’s memoir and 1930s crime reporting, the “mostly true” story follows a man obsessed with Bonnie Parker as he chases the notorious pair across Texas. Texas Comedies is an Austin-based nonprofit theater company dedicated to creating original musical comedies that bring
Texas history to life. Their past productions include The Feud, Prohibition, Alamo Aftermath, and Murders & Moontowers. This production is supported in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts. Tickets for the show are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and college students. They can be purchased online at
Eventbrite.com, or in person (cash/check) at Visit Nacogdoches (200 E. Main St.) or Zion Hill (324 N. Lanana St.) during open hours. This program is made possible by a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
