Billy Wayne Tyler was born on March 10, 1945 in Port Arthur. He always called Nacogdoches home and loved nothing more than being a good ole boy from East Texas. Not everyone has a friend or family member like Billy Wayne, but those that knew him, had 2 things that was surely going to happen when he was around….drinking coffee and eating!! He absolutely loved his unsweet tea and coffee (always black) and never missed a chance to have a meal. His love of food was astonishing and everyone knew he would have great ideas for supper when the time came! When he wasn’t eating, planning what he was eating next or making a pot of coffee, then he would be checking in on his family and friends. He was a friend that a friend liked to have. Billy Wayne enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends, but most of all, he enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Being a papaw and Gpaw brought many special memories to him.
Billy Wayne honorably served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Betelgeuse (AK- 260). He then began working to support his family. He did many things, but driving a truck was where he spent over 30 years, until he retired and made a simple life for himself at home doing the things he loved the most and watching his favorite old westerns and Andy Griffith reruns.
