Obituary
Ben Lee Pittman, age 84, of Longview, Texas passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 in Nacogdoches. He was born in Dallas, Texas on August 29, 1938 to parents Benjamin Johnson Pittman and AnnaBelle (Dilworth) Pittman.
Mr. Pittman attended high school in Westminster, Colorado and graduated with his Associate’s Degree from Abilene Christian University. He served his country in The United States Marines before serving his community as a Texas State Trooper for the Texas Department of Public Safety. He enjoyed weightlifting and horses, and he was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Alpine Church of Christ.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Joshua Pandit.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Linda Pittman; daughter, Michele Murray and husband Daniel; son, Monte Pittman; daughter, Vikki Pandit and husband David; grandchildren, Tiffany Orr, Zachary Northcutt, Shelby Strickland, Ariel Pittman, Aurora Pittman, Atticus Pittman, Beatrix Pittman, and Tara Chaney; and great-grandchildren, Ava Adkisson, Avery Adkisson, Olivia Orr, Harlynn Northcutt, Charlee Northcutt, Lottie Strickland, Levi Strickland, and Ruby Chaney.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lone Star Cemetery in Nacogdoches County officiated by Pastor Jason Williams.
Serving as pallbearers will be Zachary Northcutt, Daniel Murray, Jr., Kyle Strickland, Matt Orr, Daniel Murray, Sr., Eric Duvall, and C.E. Lindsey.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches.
