B. Ray Armstrong

MAY 23, 1940 – DECEMBER 26, 2022

B. Ray Armstrong, age 82, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, in Fort Worth. He was born May 23, 1940, in Jacksonville, Texas to parents Aubrey Armstrong & Gladys (Rawlinson) Craddock.

Ray worked as a farmer, mechanic, in construction, and operating heavy equipment. He was a “Jack-of-all-trades”, loved his dog, Tank, and was seen as a hero to his girls.

Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Armstrong; mother, Gladys Craddock; and nephew, Jimmie Armstrong Jr.

He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Mayes, Deanna Phillips, and Lesa Rickenbacker and husband Dustin; grandchildren, Madalynn Wilsterman and husband Noah, Mason Morton, Sadie Morton, Gunner Rickenbacker and Cutter Rickenbacker; sister, Deloris Castleberry and husband Leo; brother, Jimmie Armstrong and wife Judy; brother-in-law, Danny Williams and wife Brenda; nephews, Larry Williams and Steve Williams and wife Laura; niece, Krista Fultz and husband Billy; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors in Nacogdoches. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf officiated by Rev. Jubal Cannon and Rev. Leon Wallace.

Mr. Armstrong will be laid to rest in Simpson Campground Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Williams, Steve Williams, Mason Morton, Dustin Rickenbacker, Gunner Rickenbacker, and Cutter Rickenbacker.
