Stephen F. Austin State University will enter into an agreement with Angelina College to help streamline the process for AC students to transfer to SFA. The event is the first in a series SFA will host to announce and celebrate its new Lumberjack Transfer Alliance, which is a partnership with community colleges in East Texas that features guaranteed admission, scholarships and enhanced services to students.During the Tuesday event, Dr. Michael J. Simon, AC president, and Dr. Neal Weaver, SFA president, will make remarks before signing the agreement between the two institutions that provides the following benefits to AC students:Increased likelihood of seamless transfers and on-time graduations from both institutionsOpportunities to meet with SFA advisors while completing requirements at ACInvitations each semester to tour SFA and attend recruitment eventsA one-time $500 stipend in addition to SFA’s Lumberjack Transfer Scholarship for students who meet SFA’s eligibility criteria and have completed an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science from ACOpportunities to connect with other students transferring to SFAOpportunities to attend SFA events, such as athletic and fine arts eventsThe signing ceremony will be followed by an academic fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, visit sfasu.edu/transfer/alliance. |
