Lufkin, TX – Angelina Beautiful/Clean, in partnership with the city of Lufkin, Angelina County, and Cook Tire & Service Center, will host the annual Tire Recycling Day from 9:00 a.m. to noon, on October 17th, 2026 located at the City of Lufkin Solid Waste/Regional Recycling Center at 500 Southpark Drive.
Community members are invited to bring up to four tires to recycle at this drive-thru event. Volunteers will be available to unload tires.
“Every tire properly recycled is one less tire that could end up littering our beautiful East Texas community,” Emily Harmon, Angelina Beautiful Clean executive director said. “Last year, we collected more than 1,000 tires and our goal for this event is to increase that number and to educate our community that there are free resources available to dispose of waste properly.”
Additional tires, beyond the first four, will incur a $2 fee, which only applies to car or light truck tires. Semi-truck tires will be charged $5 each and are not included in the four free tires. There will be a $5 charge to remove tire rims, if removal is requested. Off-road and tractor tires are not accepted and business drop-off is not permitted.
Angelina Beautiful/Clean also hosts additional annual recycling and disposal events including Shred Day, Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day, and quarterly roadway cleanups.
