It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Kaedyn Nelson who was 17 years of age and a student at Woden High School. Deputies, EMS and the Etoile Fire Department were dispatched to an ATV accident that occurred on private property in the community of Etoile shortly after 12:00 P.M on Sunday 10-5-2025.
Etoile VFD was the first on scene. They quickly started giving medical treatment to the victim and called for life flight. EMS arrived on scene and continued giving medical treatment to the victim. A short time later, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Kaedyn Nelson, who often went by KK, was beloved in our community. When she was 10 years old, she was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive form of cancer. It was a battle that she fought and won by the grace of God. In 2019, she was in full remission and had completely recovered.
KK had an infectious smile and love for everyone that she met. She was known for her love of Christ, and trying to bring other kids to know our lord and savior. She had a natural desire to put the needs of others first, and had a true impact on many people’s lives.
