At the age of 81, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed from this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and treasured memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was the devoted wife of Gerald Gresham, her husband of more than six decades, and the proud mother of two children. She was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to her life and were among her greatest treasures.
She possessed an extraordinary gift in the kitchen and believed that preparing a meal was one of the truest expressions of love. Her table was a place of warmth and welcome, where family and friends gathered to enjoy beautifully prepared meals and one another’s company. Whether preparing a simple family dinner or hosting a special celebration, she poured her heart into every detail.
Her creativity was evident throughout her life. In her younger years, she expressed her artistic spirit through beautiful artwork and clothing designs, reflecting the imagination and attention to detail that remained hallmarks of everything she created.
She was also a steadfast and devoted supporter of her family’s passions. She traveled countless miles hauling horses to 4-H events, horse shows, playdays, and rodeos across the United States. Rarely missing a run, she became an expert behind the video camera, carefully preserving each competition and accomplishment for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Versie Wheeless; her beloved eldest son, Tommy Gresham; her brother, Kenneth Wheeless; brothers-in-law, Harold and Jimmy Gresham; sisters-in-law, Maxine Baggett and Frankie Channel; and nephews, James Channel, Ronnie Gresham, Jody Baggett, Brandon Gresham and Dickie Gresham.
She leaves behind her husband, Gerald Gresham; her daughter, Micki Gunter and husband Robby; grandchildren, Samantha Gresham, TC and Rachel Gunter, and Sara and Kody Welch; great-grandchildren, Ele Beam, Saylor and Saige Gunter and Kaul and Kye Welch and bonus son Julio Arriola; Sisters and Brother in Law: Ruth Rowe and Doris and Rocky Bartlett as well as extended family and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
A Special Thank You
Our family extends our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the hospice nurses, social worker, private sitters, and caregivers who cared for Mom with such compassion, tenderness, and dignity during her final days. A very special thank you to Iris and Sarah, Ashley, her social worker with Heart to Heart Hospice, and Brother Wayne with Heart to Heart Hospice, as well as Mom’s aides, Shay, Melissa, and Karen. Your kindness, patience, comfort, prayers, and genuine love meant more to our family than words can express.
You each brought comfort when it was needed most and helped make a difficult journey a little more peaceful. You were truly God-sends to our family, and we will forever be grateful for the care you gave Mom and the compassion you showed our entire family.
Services for Glenda were on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas, with Chaplain Wayne Butler Officiating. Burial followed the service at McKnight Cemetery.
