OCTOBER 17TH, 1953 – SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2026
In the Care of Laird Funeral Home
In fullness of faith and blessed assurance, Diana Marie Jones, was called to her heavenly home by her Savior Jesus Christ to be with Him in eternal life on September 4, 2026, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Diana was born on October 17, 1953, in Beaumont, Texas to Charles Henry Smith and Mae Helen Metcalf Smith as the baby sister of five girls. She graduated from Lumberton High School where she was a baton twirler and drum majorette. Diana and Luke Jones married November 6, 1981, and shared a full and blessed life together, raising four children and building a family and home filled with love, memories, and countless cherished moments. Diana was a committed follower of Jesus Christ, beautiful and loving wife, devoted mother, cherished Nana, favored Aunt & sister, and dear trusted friend to so many. She had a generous heart and freely gave her time and talents to lift others up and make them feel valued. Diana was very intelligent and remarkably talented in the administration and management of medical practices. She took great pride in her work and in advocating for and serving others with her knowledge of how to navigate the intricacies of insurance and the medical field. She loved studying and sharing her knowledge and faith in the Word of God, gardening, creating beautiful gifts for others, spending time with her children and grandchildren especially at ‘The Lake’, and preparing wonderful meals for those she loved. Diana was very astute and quick-witted, which always brought smiles and laughs to her family and friends. There are not enough words to convey the love that Diana gave to all those she came to know. Her warmth, integrity, kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity were a true reflection of her faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love that her family and friends will treasure, long for, and endeavor to walk in for generations to come.
