Catherine Austin Jordan, age 95, passed away on August 9th, 2026, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on June 12, 1931, in Many, Louisiana, to Solen Austin and Annie Bell Ammons.
Catherine loved to cook and her cooking was loved by all. In addition, she found great joy in spending time with and cooking for her children, grandchildren, and other family members.
She is survived by her son, Gary Don Blackledge and wife Rosalie L Blackledge; her daughter, Connie Schreck and husband Lynn Schreck; and her brother, Sonny Austin. Catherine is also survived by her seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Her family brought her immense pride and joy.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Solen Austin and Annie Bell Ammons Austin; her son, Ronnie Coy Blackledge; and her siblings, Myrtle Sherwood, Anis Brown, Edna Stringham, Louise Henderson, Pearl Lilley, and Flornel Morette Austin.
Her final resting place will be at Christian Cemetery in Nacogdoches.
