Joyce Marilee Dorsett, aged 66, of Texas, passed away on July 29, 2026. She was born on August 8, 1959, in Big Spring, Texas, to Billie Jo Fountain and Billy F. Jones.
Joyce graduated from Woden High School and went on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University, eventually becoming a DSD Coordinator at Brookshire Brothers.
She found happiness in caring for horses, dogs, and animals of all kinds. She also enjoyed baking for loved ones and reading her favorite books.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Dorsett; her sisters, Judy Jones, Jeri Blair and Husband Rod, Jorja Jacobs and Husband Thurman, Sherry Smith and Husband Glenn; her grandson, Karter Hammack; her granddaughter, Jenna Dorsett; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Dorsett; her mother, Billie Jo Fountain; her father, Billy F. Jones; and her sister, Jana Jones Fountain.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on August 29th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors – 5400 North Street – Nacogdoches, TX 75965
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter in Joyce’s memory.
Joyce will be remembered and missed dearly by all her loved ones.
