SFA News – SFA President to Address Graduates at University’s Summer Commencement Ceremony

NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Dr. Neal Weaver, president of Stephen F. Austin State University, will deliver the commencement address to all bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral candidates during SFA’s summer commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 6th, 2026 in Johnson Coliseum.

“We are looking forward to celebrating our group of summer graduates,” Weaver said. “We’re excited to see where their hard work and perseverance will take them, and we wish them continued success as they begin the next chapter of their lives.”

The public is invited to attend the graduation ceremony.

Degrees to be awarded include 179 bachelor’s, 83 master’s and 11 doctoral degrees. Sixty-five students will graduate with honors, including 29 cum laude, 25 magna cum laude and 11 summa cum laude. One student will graduate with the university scholar designation.
