Shawn Hruschka Obituary

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at 1pm at Linn Flat Cemetery near Cushing. No visitation is scheduled.

Shawn Hruschka, a proud and beloved daughter of Texas, passed from this world, leaving behind a light too brilliant to be dimmed by absence.

Born on August 14, 1969, to Larry and Jeannie Caver, Shawn came into the world with a fire that never wavered and a presence that always commanded every room she entered, a woman of uncommon beauty in mind, body, and spirit.

Shawn is survived by her husband, Marc; her children, Collin, Madison, Anneliese, and Lawson, who were, without question, the greatest love and devotion of her life. She is also survived by her mother, Jeannie Caver, and her beloved siblings, Shane and Heather, who knew firsthand the gift of growing up alongside someone so remarkable. From her earliest days, Shawn was a force of nature. A gifted and driven athlete and student, she excelled both academically and in her favorite sports Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field always with a determination that defined everything she touched. That same sharp mind earned her acceptance into the prestigious nuclear engineering program at The University of Texas at Austin — a testament to her intellect and her refusal to set limits on herself. Ultimately receiving her degree in Accounting and Finance from University of Houston, Shawn was nevertheless a lifelong, devoted Longhorn fan; she bled burnt orange to the very end. Hook ’em!

After time spent on the East Coast, Shawn and the Family returned to Texas settling into a home and property that Shawn would make her own. The outdoors, rain or shine, is where she loved to be, whether it was sitting and enjoying the sunset or putting her hands in the soil and nurturing the plants and garden she loved – a reflection of the same care and devotion she poured into her family and children each and every day.  No matter where she was, Texas was always home and she was home – Texas born and Texas proud.

Shawn was never one to leave her opinions unspoken. She was honest, bold, and fiercely herself; those who loved her knew that to be in her presence was a privilege. Shawn Hruschka lived fully, loved fiercely, and left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was not simply a woman who passed through this world — she was a woman who shaped it. Wife, Mother, Best Friend… She will be deeply and eternally missed.
