Below is Stephen F. Austin State University’s calendar of events and key dates for Oct. 13-27.Note: This calendar is not intended to be comprehensive; click the calendar links below for more events.
Homecoming kickoff  7 p.m. Oct. 13
Sesquicentennial Plaza  Kick off SFA Homecoming week with live music, a petting zoo, delicious food and fun photo opportunities. The culminating event will be dyeing the Surfin’ Steve Fountain purple.
12×12 Art Scholarship Fundraiser and Auction  Oct. 14 to Nov. 8
The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House  SFA’s Friends of the Visual Arts’ annual 12×12 Art Scholarship Fundraiser exhibit and auction benefits scholarships for students in SFA’s School of Art. Each 12-by-12-inch piece has been created and generously donated by SFA faculty members, students, alumni and local artists. The exhibit and bidding will open Oct. 14 and close at 7:30 p.m. Nov 8. A reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 8. 
Entrepreneurial Faculty Fellows Showcase  11 a.m. Oct. 15
Baker Pattillo Student Center, Spirit Lounge Entrepreneurial Faculty Fellows from all six colleges will be in attendance to share their upcoming entrepreneurial course offerings and answer your questions. 
Homecoming bonfire and concert 8 p.m. Oct. 17
Intramural Fields Award-winning country duo Maddie & Tae will take the stage at 9 p.m. during the Student Activities Association’s annual SFA Homecoming bonfire and concert. The event will also feature a bonfire built by the Sigma Chi fraternity, a drone show presented by Sky Elements and a pep rally with performances by the Lumberjack Cheer and Dance Teams, Lumberjack Marching Band and Twirl-O-Jacks.
Volleyball vs. University of the Incarnate Word Noon Oct. 18
Shelton Gym SFA’s volleyball team will compete against University of the Incarnate Word. 
Football vs. Nicholls State University  6 p.m. Oct. 18
Homer Bryce Stadium SFA’s football team will compete against Nicholls State University. 
Kantorei and Singing Axes  7:30 p.m. Oct. 19
Wright Music Building, Cole Concert Hall  Soprano, alto, tenor and bass vocalists from all majors across campus perform music from various styles and periods.
Piney Woods Entrepreneurship Network meetup  5:30 p.m. Oct. 23
Dilly Dally  Hosted by SFA’s Arnold Center for Entrepreneurship, the Piney Woods Entrepreneurship Network invites community members, small business owners, entrepreneurs and SFA students to come together as we connect with, learn from and help each other.
Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE  7:30 p.m. Oct. 24
Griffith Fine Arts Building, Turner Auditorium Marshall Charloff & Purple xPeRIeNCE is the most authentic and awe-inspiring celebration of Prince in the world. The act was created by Dr. Fink and front-man Marshall Charloff. Purple XPeRIeNCE delivers the greatest production of Prince and the Revolution in the world to audiences of all generations.
SFA Gardens’ 40th anniversary celebration 10 a.m. Oct. 25
Pineywoods Native Plant Center Join SFA Gardens for a free family event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the gardens.
