The 2023-2024 golf season for the SFA Women’s Golf team saw them participate in nine different tournaments throughout the season as they traveled to tournaments in Texas, South Carolina, Missouri, and Arkansas this season before concluding their season in Arizona at the WAC Conference Championships.
SFA’s fall schedule got started as they traveled to Pawleys Island, South Carolina to participate in the Golfweek Fall Challenge where SFA finished 17th to kick off their 2023-2024 season. The end of September saw SFA travel to Huntsville to participate in the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational where SFA finished. Sloane Bennett finished 10th overall in the Invitational as she shot +7 over par for the Ladyjacks.
October proved to be a highly successful month for the Ladyjacks as they began the month by traveling to Cape Girardeau, Missouri to participate in the SIU Saluki Invitational where SFA finished second overall as they shot +59 over par as a team, with Sloane Bennett finishing as the top golfer for the ‘Jacks as she tied for fourth overall by shooting +7 over par for the Invitational.
One week later, the Ladyjacks traveled to Glen Rose, Texas to participate in the Texan Match Play that saw SFA finished second overall once again as they finished just short in the championship round losing by a score of 3-1-1. The Ladyjacks closed out their fall schedule at the end of October as they traveled to Hot Springs, Arkansas to play in the Little Rock Women’s Golf Classic where SF finished 13th.
SFA’s spring slate kicked off in mid-February as they traveled to Corpus Christi to participate in the Islander Classic, where SFA finished seventh out of 11 teams. The middle of March saw the ‘Jacks make a short trip to Houston where they participated in the HCU Women’s Husky Intercollegiate that saw SFA finish 11th out of 12 teams overall. March remained busy for the Ladyjacks as they finished off the month by traveling to Springfield, Missouri where they played in the Ozarks National Invitational and finished the Invitational eighth out of 13 teams. Sloane Bennett grabbed another top-10 finish for SFA at the Ozarks National Invitational as she finished fifth overall shooting +7 over par for the Invitational.
The Ladyjacks concluded their spring regular season in Tulsa, Oklahoma where they participated in the Oral Roberts Spring Invite and finished 13th out of 15 teams. The Ladyjacks then traveled to Payson, Arizona to participate in the WAC Conference Championships where they finished tied for ninth out of 11 teams to conclude their 2023-2024 season.
