An in-person registration day for Pre-K for the 2024-25 academic year will take place 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at the Fredonia Early Childhood Center, 1326 S. Fredonia St.
Computers will be available to begin the registration process. Parents or guardians must have all required documents on hand to register a child and ensure a place for the upcoming school year. NISD will not process partial documents at the in-person registration event on April 27.
The Pre-K online registration portal opened Tuesday, April 2, at Nacogdoches ISD for the 2024-25 academic year. The portal allows parents to register any student who will be NEW to the district in the upcoming school year.
Parents are encouraged to register their children now for Pre-K because spots at Fredonia Early Childhood Center will go quickly, principal Charles Zemanek said.
“With our online portal open, registrations are coming in quickly,” said Zemanek. “So, we encourage parents to go ahead and reserve that spot as soon as possible.”
Pre-kindergarten in the upcoming school year is for children living within NISD boundaries and who are 4-years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2024. Students must meet certain requirements for Pre-K, such as being an English language learner, from a low-income family, homeless, living in foster care, a Star of Texas family, or an active military family.
NISD anticipates another large group for Pre-K in the upcoming school year at Fredonia Early Childhood Center. The district welcomed 300 students for the 2023-24 school year, Zemanek said.
For parents registering their child online at NacISD.org, they can find a list of documents needed to sign-up their child. Those with questions can contact Fredonia Early Childhood Center directly at (936) 569-5062 to make an appointment for assistance.
