Lumberjacks Men’s Golf Team Finishes Second in Koasati Pines Intercollegiate

Kinder, Louisiana- The Stephen F. Austin Men’s golf team wrapped up play today at the Koasati Pines Intercollegiate. The men finished second overall out of 11 teams.

Jaxon Griffith led the charge for the men as he finished tied for first overall at -8 under par and shot -4 under par in his final round of play today. Jaxon shot under par in every round during the tournament with round scores of 69, 71, and 68. Griffith totaled 208 strokes through three rounds of play.

Cameron Hubbard followed right behind Griffith as he finished tied for third place at -6 under par with 210 total strokes for the tournament. Trey Rouse finished tied for 11th place at -2 under par and 214 total strokes for the tournament. Matthew Hewitt finished tied for 19th place at +1 over par with 217 total strokes for the tournament. Rick Frauenberger rounded out the team totals tied for 37th place at +7 over par with 223 total strokes for the tournament.

Eyan Edsall and Ryan Esparza both competed as individuals in the tournament. Eyan finished tied for 27th at +4 over par with 220 total strokes for the tournament. Ryan Esparza finished tied for 41st at +9 over par with 225 total strokes for the tournament.

The Lumberjacks will be back in action April 15th-16th at the North Texas Intercollegiate in Carrollton, Texas for their final tournament of the season before the WAC Conference championships.
